Placement Terms
We do not show our pups until they are six weeks old in order to allow their immune systems to become fully established and help prevent them from acquiring any unforseen health issues.
Although we love our pups to go to homes with children, as they make such wonderful pets for a child, we prefer our puppies to be in homes with children over the age of ten, when they are old enough to understand the care required by a young pup. We feel that a young pup and a young child could present problems.
From the time they are a few days old we take and send pictures bi-weekly to you of the pups so that you can watch them grow. At 5-6 weeks of age, we will send you several shots of the individual puppies for you to make your selection according to your placement on the list. Because of the high demand for our pups and limited number of litters we always have a waiting list. This determines the order of puppy choice. Regardless of placement on the list, you can rest assured they are all wonderful, well adjusted pups, who have had much socialization. From a personality aspect, it is generally created from the environment they have been exposed to. Choosing of your pup will be done by you with photo's, as we have so many folks that are out of state, that can not come here, so this is the only fair way for all that we have found to complete this process.
WE CAN NOT HOLD YOUR PUP BEYOND THE SCHEDULED PICK UP DATE, as we are unable to commit to the family as far as trips, family gatherings, etc., during the time we have pups so that we can be here with the pups. Therefore, since we make your pups priority during this time, we ask that you be respectful of our time and pick up your pup on the scheduled pick up day. We schedule "our time" around the pups departure.
SORRY...NO PERSONAL CHECKS, EXCEPT FOR THE INITIAL DEPOSIT, WHEN THE PUP IS PICKED UP WE WILL TAKE MONEY ORDER, CASHIERS CHECK OR CASH ONLY. WE APOLOGIZE FOR ANY INCONVIENCE THIS MAY CAUSE YOU.
When your pup is six weeks of age we have what we refer to as a “PUPPY LUNCHEON”. You can come and visit, play with your pup, take photos, socialize and enjoy a luncheon as well as learn about becoming a new puppy caregiver. If you can not join us for this event, we will send you pictures. If you decide at this time after viewing your pup and his/her environment that you are not satisfied with the puppy or us as breeders, we will refund your deposit no questions asked. However, this is the ONLY time that a deposit will be returned after we have held this pup for you. It is also at this time that we start the house training process for you. We feel that a partially housetrained puppy makes for a more stress free environment for you as well as the pup, and will help the intial homecoming process off to a good start.
In order to protect our dogs from potentially contagious disease, we do not invite folks into our kennel area. AKC as well as our Vet has educated us regarding this. They have warned that someone that has been to look at pups elsewhere previous to visiting us could bring in contagious disease and spread to our dogs. So we just don't take the chance with our dogs. We keep the parents of your pup indoors during the puppy luncheon time in order for you to meet them, play with them, as well as your pup, and then the parents are kept indoors for a few days afterwards before going back to the kennel area with the others. This way we can monitor them to make sure they have not been exposed to something harmful during the time of the socialization during the puppy luncheon. This may sound a bit meticulous, but it works, as in the last 8 years, we have never had an illness within our kennel.
Our kennel area is kept bleach clean, and our dogs are kept clean, healthy and well socialized. We have a four page report from the AKC inspectors of our kennel inspection, showing that we passed with the highest marks on the inspection. We will be glad to show you this report at the puppy luncheon or upon request.
If we have more than one litter, please study the litters and be sure of which litter you would like a pup from before being placed on the waiting list. Once you are placed on a list , you will remain on this list unless you cancel. We no longer move names from one list to another, as it presents problems. We take only four names per litter and once the list is full we must turn others away, and moving people from list to list creates confusion on availability. So once you are placed on the list for a certain litter, please do not ask us to move you to another litter.
IF you are flying your pup, it is imperative that we have communication with you 48 hours previous to flight. We want to verify that someone will be at the destination to pick up your puppy. If we do not have communication with you 2 days prior to flight , we will not place the puppy on the flight until we are assured someone will be there to pick up the puppy . If someone other than yourself will be picking up the pup for you, we need the name of that person as the airlines will not release the pup unless that name is provided prior to flight. A picture ID must be presented to the airline when picking up your pup. And lastly we must have the balance in full 7 days before flight in money order or cashiers check. If you want to mail a personal check, it must be received 14 days prior to flight in order to have clearance time before flight.
AKC REGISTRATION:Your pup will be AKC registered, however, there will be a restiction against breeding the pup, meaning off spring from your pup can not be AKC registered. You can participate in many of the AKC events, you just can not register any off spring. This is our way of helping to protect the breed and the champion blood line, as well as discourage breeding by those other than experienced, reputable breeders. We want our pups to go to loving family homes, and not be sought for the purpose of breeding.
